Barrie's photo radar cameras have moved: Here's where you'll find them
The City of Barrie relocated its two automated speed enforcement (ASE) cameras to help deter motorists from poor driving behaviours in school zones.
Drivers will notice ‘Speed Camera In Use’ signs along Wellington Street West near Hillcrest Public School and on Grove Street East near Eastview Secondary School.

The photo radar cameras are moved to new locations every few months.
At least 90 days before the cameras are activated, ‘Coming Soon’ signs are posted to give motorists advanced notice.
If a vehicle is tagged for speeding through an ASE monitored area, a ticket is mailed to the registered owner within 23 days of the violation.
“There is a very simple way to avoid getting a traffic ticket – don’t speed,” the City states.
The offence does not carry any demerit points and won’t impact vehicle insurance but can come with a hefty fine.
The City had reported that in the program’s first four months, $460,000 in fines had been issued.
Officials say the cameras have effectively slowed vehicles travelling through community safety zones.
