Pedestrian dead after collision with train in Bracebridge

One person has died following a collision with a train in Bracebridge Thursday evening.

Provincial police say the pedestrian was struck sometime after 6 p.m. along the Canadian National tracks in the Taylor Road area.

Several roads in the area were blocked for the investigation, including Entrance Drive, Taylor Road, Ann Street, Woodchester Avenue, and Queen Street.

The railway crossings were reopened around 11:30 p.m.

CTV News has learned the male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been confirmed.

Police say foul play is not suspected.
