NHL greats hit the ice in Collingwood to support children with disabilities

National Hockey League alumni hit the ice in Simcoe County on Friday for the 3rd annual Collingwood Celebrity Hockey Classic.

The event held at the Eddie Bush Arena offers the opportunity for hockey enthusiasts to play alongside some NHL greats for a good cause, raising funds for Easter Seals Ontario.

Easter Seals helps provide vital and expensive equipment for children living with disabilities and offers respite for their families.

“We’ve raised almost $140,000, but when you think about it, that’s only four wheelchairs. The cost of raising a child with disabilities is so high that we have to do events like this. We have to support the families,” said Charlene Myke, Easter Seals development manager.

Hockey pros attending the event include Wendel Clark, Shayne Corson, Andre Roy, Mike Krushelnyski, Rick Vaive, Brad May and Dave Ellett.
