Driving a car without running headlights or a front plate in Caledon can get you stopped by police.

A car was pulled over on Airport Road in Caledon by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) shortly after 10 p.m. Monday.

Once the vehicle was stopped, the officer found a significant amount of damage to the car's front end.

Police soon discovered the car had been involved in a fail-to-remain collision in Brampton earlier that day.

Police determined the driver was impaired and charged the 30-year-old Cambridge man with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand
  • Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor
  • Drive with improper headlights
  • Drive motor vehicle, fail to display two plates
  • Operate unsafe vehicle

The accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on January 16 to answer to the charges. The driver's licence was also suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle impounded for seven.
