Police in Barrie say a driver accused of crashing into a convenience store early Friday morning was intoxicated by almost three times the legal alcohol limit.

The store on Dunlop Street East sustained damage in the crash that happened around 2:30 a.m., including a broken window and some structural damage.

Officers arrested a 34-year-old man who they claim exhibited obvious signs of impairment.

He was charged and later released from custody.
