Child rushed to trauma centre after two-vehicle collision: OPP

A 10-year-old child was rushed to a trauma centre following a collision in Southgate on Wednesday.

Provincial police say the two-vehicle crash happened south of Varney around 3:30 p.m. on Highway 6, north of Mount Forest.

The authorities confirmed the child’s injuries, which were initially thought to be life-threatening, have since been reassessed as non-life-threatening.

Police closed the area for several hours for the investigation. It has since reopened.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.

They ask anyone with information on the collision to contact Grey Bruce OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 to remain anonymous.
