Some of the residents who were kicked out of the Blue Mountain Lodge for safety reasons will be allowed back in.

Town officials inspected the building and determined one wing is now safe for residents to remain in, while another wing and the lobby will remain closed until it can be cleaned up.

More than 20 people had been renting long term rooms at the former motel and were told last Friday to move out.

Some people are now staying with friends and the Salvation Army is providing temporary shelter for others.

The problem was a broken sewer pipe in the basement.

The property manager is working with the Town of the Blue Mountains and officials with the Family Y in Owen Sound to help find temporary accommodations for nine affected residents.
