Search efforts continue on Lake Simcoe and on Lake Couchiching for two missing men.
The South Simcoe Police marine unit is searching an area of Lake Simcoe in the Innisfil area, where a Toronto man is believed to have gone missing.
This is the area where police found an abandoned kayak on Wednesday. Two days later officers discovered an abandoned vehicle on the 4 Line of Innisfil, which they learned was registered to Halai Li of Toronto
The 57-year-old left last Monday for a fishing trip on Lake Simcoe, but never returned home.
Over the weekend a search effort was conducted with the Canadian military, South Simcoe Police and York Regional Police.
Li is described as an Asian male, 5’9”, 165 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
The OPP meanwhile are continuing to search south of Washago for a missing duck hunter.
The 30-year-old man was on Lake Couchiching on Saturday retrieving a duck he had shot, when police say the canoe he was in capsized just before 8:30 a.m.
According to the OPP, the Bracebridge man was not wearing a life-jacket and has been missing ever since.
Emergency crews spent the weekend searching the waters, but have so far been unsuccessful.
Anyone with information to either incident is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
