A new poll shows the popularity of Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne continuing to slide.

The Mainstreet Research/ Postmedia poll found that 58 per cent of 2,524 Ontarians surveyed believe Wynne should step down.

According to Quito Maggi, president of Mainstreet, the premier’s approval rating is at 15 per cent. NDP Leader Andrea Horwath has the largest approval rating at 53 per cent, while Progressive Conservative Leader Patrick Brown sits at 51 per cent.

The poll also found that 53 per cent of those polled believe Wynne had something to do with the bribery scandal.

“As Kathleen Wynne's fortunes fall, left and centre left voters across Ontario are turning to Horwath. Her high approvals have now started to register on the voter intentions as the NDP now has the support of 27 (per cent) among decided and leaning voters across Ontario compared to 25 (per cent) for the Wynne led Liberals,” Maggi said in a written statement.

The poll is considered accurate plus or minus 1.95 per cent, 19 times out of 20.
