Police make arrest in connection to $40,000 sunglasses theft spree at Barrie mall

Police arrested a man in connection with a series of thefts from a Barrie mall.

According to police, a suspect stole sunglasses valued at over $40,000 from the same business in the Georgian Mall on several occasions in April.

Police said they identified the suspect, a 34-year-old man of no fixed address, earlier this month and arrested him in downtown Barrie.

He faces 12 counts of theft under $5,000, 12 counts of possession of property obtained by crime, trafficking property obtained by crime, and failing to comply with probation.
