Ontario pledges $25M to help build new homes in Town of the Blue Mountains
Just weeks after the Town of the Blue Mountains declared a housing crisis, the Ontario government announced a $25 million investment to support the construction of new homes.

On Monday, Simcoe-Grey MPP Brian Saunderson revealed the provincial government would deliver water infrastructure funding to help facilitate the construction of 2,078 new homes in the Blue Mountains.
"Simcoe-Grey is growing, and we know a major piece to responsible and sustainable growth is infrastructure," Saunderson stated in a release.
"Homes can't be built without connections to drinking water and wastewater," added Ontario's Minister of Infrastructure, Kinga Surma.
Earlier this month, the Town said it needed help increasing housing stock, pointing to a lack of mixed housing to meet its community needs.
"This investment is crucial to meeting the demands of our growing population," noted Mayor Andrea Matrosovs.
The funding announced on Monday is part of the first round of investments from the Housing-Enabling Water Systems Fund, providing nearly $1 billion to help municipalities with water infrastructure.
