Midland Fire Service, Southern Georgian Bay OPP and County of Simcoe paramedics responded to an early Saturday morning fire at a residence in Midland, which sent one person to hospital.

At around 4:30 a.m., first responders attended what police described as a 'fully engulfed' fire at a six-residence complex on William Street.

Police say a man was triaged at the scene and transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries as a result of the fire.

Traffic in the area was redirected while the fire was being extinguished. The area has since been reopened, but drivers and residents are encouraged to stay clear while police and fire officials investigate the cause of the fire.

Police are seeking the help of anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone with video surveillance footage that may assist the investigation.
