Weekend work along busy Barrie road means lane closures, restrictions

Motorists planning to drive near the intersection of Essa Road and Anne Street South in Barrie over the weekend may have to pack their patience.

The City says sidewalk work will get underway on Saturday at the busy intersection, resulting in lane closures and restrictions.
Crews are scheduled to be paving surface asphalt from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Essa Road between Fairview Road and Anne Street South.
Parts of Anne Street South will also be paved, including sections from Essa Road to Adelaide Street and from Essa to just before Campbell Avenue.
The City says officers will be on-site to help direct traffic, but drivers should expect slowdowns through the area.
The remaining section of Anne Street is scheduled to be paved at a later date, though the exact timing is still to be determined.
