Holiday hours for City of Barrie facilities and services
The City of Barrie has schedule changes and closures during the holiday season, affecting recreation centres, City Hall, curbside waste collection, Barrie Transit, and parking rules.
Recreation Centres
The Peggy Hill Team Community Centre, East Bayfield Community Centre, and Allandale Recreation Centre will operate as follows:
- Open normal hours on December 23 and December 27 to 30.
- Open from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. on December 24 and 31.
- Closed on December 25, 26, and January 1.

City Hall
City Hall will observe the following hours:
- December 23 and December 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- December 24 and 31 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Closed December 25 to 27 and January 1.
Curbside Collection and Landfill
There will be no curbside waste collection on December 25 or January 1, with collection moving to the next day for the rest of those weeks.
The landfill will be closed on December 25, 26, and January 1, and will close early at 12 p.m. on December 24 and 31.

Barrie Transit
Transit service will run as follows:
- Regular weekday service on December 24.
- No service on December 25 or January 1.
- Sunday schedule with a 7 a.m. start on December 26.
Free transit after 5 p.m. on December 31, with Routes 1 and 8 operating until 3 a.m. (excluding the Highway 400 Express).

Parking Updates
Take advantage of free two-hour on-street parking downtown until December 31.
Standard rates apply in municipal lots and the Collier Street Parkade.
On-street parking and municipal lots will not be enforced on statutory holidays, but waterfront parking is enforced year-round.
Exceptions to overnight on-street parking restrictions apply on December 25, 26, and January 1, from 12:01 a.m. to 7 a.m., unless the city declares a Winter Maintenance Event.
