Motorcyclist dies in Muskoka crash

Huntsville OPP is investigating a two-vehicle collision Friday afternoon in the Township of Muskoka Lakes that resulted in the death of a motorcycle driver.

At around 3:30 p.m., officers and emergency crews responded to a collision between a motorcycle and SUV on Aspdin Road near Gross Road. Police say the motorcycle was travelling westbound on Aspdin Road and collided with the SUV, which was travelling eastbound.

The motorcycle driver, a 72-year-old man from Wakefield, Quebec, died from his injuries after being transported to a Parry Sound hospital. The driver and passenger were transported to a Huntsville hospital with minor injuries.

Aspdin Road was closed for several hours as OPP investigated the area of the collision. The factors that led to the crash are still to be determined, and OPP are seeking the help of anyone with information that may assist the investigation.
