Police are investigating a three-vehicle overnight collision in Caledon, which resulted in the death of one driver.

According to Caledon OPP, the fatal incident occurred Friday evening just before midnight on Highway 10 near Old School Road.

Police say the driver and sole occupant of one of the involved vehicles, a 44-year-old from Caledon, was pronounced dead at the scene. The two occupants in the second vehicle were taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre for serious injuries, while the two occupants from the third vehicle were taken to a local hospital according to Caledon OPP.

Highway 10 between King Street and Old School Road was closed for several hours while crews investigated the scene.
