The snow squall warnings that were in effect for much of the region this weekend have ended.

According to Environment Canada, Barrie and many other areas across Simcoe County, South Muskoka and Grey County were under a series of snow squall warnings that began Wednesday night.

As of Sunday morning, those warnings are no longer in effect according to Environment Canada’s weather alert map.

The national weather agency reported storm totals of 56 centimetres of snowfall for Barrie-Oro on Friday and unofficially 72 to 80 centimetres for Horseshoe Valley.

The City of Barrie, the Township of Springwater and the City of Owen Sound all made significant weather event declarations on Saturday. As of Sunday, none of them have posted any updates about their declarations being lifted.

Environment Canada is forecasting for flurries to continue in Barrie on Sunday with possible snowfall amounts of ten to 15 centimetres.
