Twenty-five community-minded people received royal recognition for their contributions to society.

The King Charles III Coronation Medal was awarded to residents of Barrie, Springwater and Oro-Medonte by MP Doug Shipley and MPP Doug Downey for their outstanding contributions to the community, the region, and Canada at large.

“Today, we are celebrating individuals who go above and beyond to make our country a better place,” said Shipley. “These recipients have not only contributed to their communities, but they have done so with unwavering dedication, passion, and a commitment to creating positive change. I am proud to be able to recognize their outstanding achievements.”

The ceremony was attended by family members and friends who gathered to celebrate the exceptional achievements of each of the recipients.

“This award allows us to acknowledge the incredible work these recipients do throughout the community,” said Downey. “The contributions that these individuals have made has left a positive impact across our communities. I am grateful to be able to honour and celebrate their achievements in such a meaningful way.”
