A community meeting will be held on Sunday to discuss the release of a high-risk offender in King Township.

York Regional Police is inviting the public to the meeting to provide the community with more information about the release of Keith Theodore Constantin.

Police have said the 35-year-old is a high-risk offender and poses a risk to the community, especially children.

Constantin was released after serving a four year sentence for sexual assault with a weapon and an 18 month sentence for breach of a curfew condition. He is now living in a rural area of King Township, near Highway 9 and Highway 27.

Officials say Constantin must adhere to a strict order, which requires him to follow a number of restrictions. One of which means he cannot be alone with anyone under the age of 16 unless the minor is accompanied by an adult over the age of 18.

Constantin has also been convicted for sexual assault, assault with a weapon, assault, robbery and possession of explosives.

The meeting will begin at 2 p.m. at the Trisan Centre, located at 25 Dillane Drive in Schomberg.

Members of YRP’s high-risk offenders unit and Ontario’s Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services will be on hand.
