Enbridge Gas has stopped a gas leak in the north end of Barrie.
Police say a majore gas line was ruptured shortly before 10 a.m. in the area of Alexander Avenue.
Enbridge Gas said there was no immediate risk but asked residents in the area to remain in their homes and keep the windows and doors closed.
Johnson Street Public School was put under in a 'shelter in place' due to the leak in area.
The leak was stopped shortly after the noon hour and the 'shelter in place' was lifted shortly after.
There is no word on what caused the leak.
