A Caledon man fled police on Tuesday after he was caught speeding near Oakville.
OPP say a police officer saw car driving 180km/hr westbound on the QEW near Oakville around 2 a.m. Tuesday morning.
The police officer attempted to stop the car but it exited off the highway. The office began a small pursuit but then stopped it because he was concerned for the public’s safety.
A short time later, the officer then saw the driver lose control of the car and drive off the road and into a ditch.
The 25-year-old man from Caledon was arrested, his licence suspended and car impounded for a week.
He will appear in court on October 20th, 2014.
