It was the trip of a lifetime for a group of cadets from Barrie.

Cadets from the 102 Barrie Silver Fox Squadron came home today after a tour of the United Kingdom and France where they took in some history and honoured fallen soldiers.

Now back home, the air cadets from Barrie have some great stories to share.

“I had a great uncle who fought in World War Two. I was fortunate enough to go and visit his gravesite and take pictures. It was an interesting moment for me,” says Dain Saulnier.

Danielle St. Jean adds the trip was an interesting moment for them, especially as they got to pay their respects.

While overseas for more than two weeks, the cadets visited Vimy Ridge, and a Canadian cemetery in northern France.

About 30 cadets went on the trip.
