History was made Sunday afternoon in Caledon as an 8-month-old boy became the youngest person ever to compete in a horse jumping competition.

J.P. Armstrong, son of Trina Maus, took part in the Trillium Hunter Jumper Association competition. J.P. is now the youngest person to saddle up in the 30 year history of the competition.

He was up against 14 other riders as old as 7 years old and he was judged on his ability to sit properly on a pony as it’s led by an adult.

And J.P. and all the competitors did very well; the judge gave them all a first place ribbon.
