A woman remains in custody after allegedly assaulting her husband and the family dog early Sunday morning.
Barrie police say the 49-year-old woman allegedly assaulted her husband, then turned on the family dog and struck it with a bat. The dog was taken to the vet to be checked out and is recovering back at home.
The woman is charged with assault with a weapon and causing suffering to an animal.
She is being held until a bail hearing Oct. 15.
