A University of Toronto researcher is asking for the public’s help in locating a runaway blimp.

The research blimp broke away from it tether in King City on Thursday.

The helium-filled blimp is described as white, ten metres long, two metres wide and has two propellers attached to the gondola in the middle of the blimp.

It was spotted close to the ground in the area of Highway 400 and Highway 89 around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday afternoon. A pilot then reported seeing it about 3,000 feet off the ground near Bradford around 7:00 p.m.
