Three local events and exhibitions are getting some support from the provincial government.

The Ontario Cultural Attractions Fund has announced 23 spring and summer recipients that will split more than $1.6 million.

Talk is Free Theatre in Barrie will receive $35,000 for their production of The Music Man. The production moves across actual setting in the city, including city hall and the library. The Music Man takes place between Sept. 15 and Oct. 8.

The Huronia Cultural Campus Foundation in Orillia is getting $15,000 for their Huronia Arts Festival. The festival will showcase storytelling and classical music. The event happens on Aug. 13.

The Canoe: A Canadian Cultural Icon at the Wye Marsh will receive $15,000. The exhibit showcases the importance of canoes in Canada. The exhibit is on now in Midland until Dec. 31.
