A low pressure system moving across northern Ontario could result in some scattered thunderstorms in our region on Thursday.

Environment Canada says a low pressure trough associated with the low pressure system is expected to move eastward on Thursday afternoon which could produce a few thunderstorms.

Even though they are not expected to be severe thunderstorms, they could give localized rainfall of up to 25 mm in a short period of time over frozen ground.

The same weather system has prompted freezing rain warnings for parts of eastern Ontario.
