Three days after they went on strike, personal support workers (PSW’s) across Simcoe County gathered in Barrie Saturday to talk about what they say needs to change.

PSW’s gathered outside the Georgian Mall to get their message out. Workers have been in a legal strike position for several weeks and just recently, they voted to reject a tentative deal with Red Cross Care Partners.

Wages, mileage pay and vehicle maintenance costs are the key issues in the dispute.

In our area, there are about 90 personal support workers in Barrie and close to 350 across Simcoe County.
