One person is dead, and another has suffered serious injuries after a motorcycle crash in Innisfil.

According to South Simcoe Police, the motorcycle was travelling south on Yonge Street when it collided with Chrysler Pacifica at the intersection of County Road 89, at aroound 10:30 a.m.

Two teenagers were on the motorcycle at the time of the crash. On Tuesday afternoon police announced that the driver of the motorcycle, a 16-year-old boy, died.

The passenger, a 15-year-old boy, suffered serious injuries and has been airlifted to a Toronto hospital. The driver and lone occupant of the van, an 85-year-old Alliston man, suffered minor injuries.

The intersection was closed for several hours, but has since reopened.

The investigation is ongoing.
