An off-duty OPP officer has been charged with impaired driving after crashing his vehicle into a rock cut in Utterson.

According to provincial police, the Almaguin Highlands OPP constable crashed his vehicle on Highway 141 on Saturday, at around 10 p.m.

The OPP say the 44-year-old driver had been drinking and was arrested at the scene. He has been charged with impaired driving and refusing to provide a breath sample.

The accused is an 18-year member of the OPP.

He will appear in a Hunstville court next month.
