A Midland man has been charged with two counts of luring after an investigation uncovered inappropriate messages were sent to a 14 year old girl.

Barrie Police say the investigation started after the force received a complaint from the teen's  parent, who discovered inappropriate messages were sent to their daughter through a social networking app.

Investigators linked the suspect’s on-line profile to a Midland resident.

On Wednesday, investigators with the Internet Child Exploitation Unit, Midland Police and the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Section arrested a 32-year-old Midland man.

The suspect has been charged with two counts of luring, make child pornography and invitation to sexual touching. The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Police have seized a number of computers and a mobile device from the accused.

Barrie Police say the evidence gathered so far does not indicate others have been lured in the same fashion.

The OPP’s Technology Crime Unit will examine the seized computers to further investigate the suspect’s on-line activities.
