Charges have been laid after an ATV went into a ditch and struck a tree in Alcona.
South Simcoe Police was called to the crash in the area of St. John’s Road and 7th Line on Sunday, at around 6 p.m.
Investigators say a man approached officers at the scene and informed them that he was the driver. However they later learned the real driver was taken to hospital.
The 25-year-old man was charged with obstructing police for allegedly misleading officers. The actual driver of the ATV suffered minor injuries.
The man will appear in court in September.
