The death of a Barrie man at a construction site more than three years ago will be subject to an inquest, the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services announced Wednesday.

The inquest will cover the death of 53-year-old Steven Mitchell.

Mitchell died on February 6th, 2014 when he fell from a ladder in a trench and hit his head on a pipe at a construction site near the Barrie Molson Centre.

The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mitchell's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.
