A trucking company has been charged after two wheels fell off a transport truck and struck a car south of Orillia on Thursday morning.

It happened around 10 a.m. on Highway 11 north of Line 11.

Police say the truck was travelling northbound when it lost the tires. The tires then struck a car traveling in the same direction.

The driver of the car, a 42-year-old woman, was taken to Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Orillia where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

OPP along with the Ministry of Transportation investigated the crash.

As a result, Canada Cartage Diversified GP INC will be charged with wheel separation – commercial motor vehicle.
