Two arrested in ‘violent’ overnight incidents

Police in Barrie are investigating what is being described as a series of ‘violent’ incidents that occurred early Saturday morning.

According to Barrie Police via X, the incidents occurred between 2 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. on Dunlop Street East in the City’s Downtown core.

A spokesperson from Barrie Police Service told CTV News that they are looking into a number of weapons-related calls and calls where people sustained injuries and left the area.

In a Saturday afternoon update, police stated that two male suspects were arrested on Davidson Street, adding that they were found to be in possession of a loaded firearm and a large quantity of fentanyl.
