Barrie police are investigating after five homes were broken into early Tuesday morning.

A suspect broke into the homes in the area of Sovereigns Gate, Cedar Crescent and Parisian Court sometime between midnight and 4 a.m.

Police believe the suspect gained entry through unlocked sliding doors, kitchen windows and a garage. Purses, wallets and vehicle keys were stolen during the break-in.

In one instance police say the keys were used to steal an SUV. That vehicle was found later that day at the Tiffin Boat Launch.

Police say these break-ins are similar to ones they saw last month in the area of Little Avenue and Yonge Street.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have video surveillance in these areas to please come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
