Flags are flying at half-staff on Friday at all York Regional Police offices after the death of one of the force’s officers.

Constable Michael Pegg died suddenly early Friday morning in hospital.  The 36-year-old had been receiving treatment for the past three weeks after he broke his leg during a training exercise on November 12, 2013.

Pegg was a ten year veteran of the York Regional Police and served as a Tactical Flight Officer in the YRP Air Support Unit.

Funeral arrangements have not been finalized.
