A 29-year-old woman is dead after a parachute accident in Georgina yesterday evening.

The woman, described as an experienced skydiver by police, fell to her death near the Baldwin airport. York Regional Police are still looking into what happened, though officers are calling it an accident. They have handed the investigation over to the coroner.

The Parachute School of Toronto runs out of Baldwin airport and police confirm she was with the school. She made more than 250 jumps, the school says.

"She had problems with the main parachute, went through emergency procedures so the reserve parachute for whatever reason was activated too low," says Adam Mabee of the parachute school.

People have been leaving flowers for the woman at the scene.

Last July, a 42-year-old man who was a student at the school died in a parachuting accident in the same area.
