A cat named ‘Elvis’ is hoping the spirit of giving will extend to a vet clinic in Orillia where he is recuperating.

‘Elvis’ is a two-year-old brown tabby that has no home to go, in fact he is lucky to be alive after an infection forced the amputation of his front right leg.

“He had either been struck by a car or perhaps he was attacked by another cat or an animal wouldn’t have survived,” says Tom Molloy with the Orillia OSPCA.

When he was brought to the vet he was cold, weak and in very rough shape.

“It was pretty bad, the joint at the elbow was pretty much fused so he had no mobility in that joint at all,” says Veterinarian Dr. Sally Moran.

“It’s amazing that he’s still purring with the amount that he’s been through. According to Doctor Moran he’s been suffering from an infected leg that had been injured for quite some time and he must have been in horrendous pain,” adds Molloy.

The challenge for the Orillia OSPCA is trying to find a home for ‘Elvis’ and someone who will cover his $1,800 life surgery.
