Caledon provincial police recovered a stolen car after receiving an alert on the cruiser's Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system.

On patrol on Kennedy Road in Southfields Village, police spotted a stolen car on its ALPR Monday at 11 p.m.

The car was located at a home on Valleyscape Trail and two people were arrested. A search of the residence later that day turned up an automotive master key.

A 27-year-old man of no-fixed-address, and a 31-year-old Brant County woman were arrested and charged with possession of the key, as well as possession of stolen property over $5,000.

Both accused were held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville.

Police say if you observe a suspicious vehicle or person in your neighbourhood, report it to police by calling 911. If possible, note of the make, model, colour, driver/occupant descriptors, and the plate number.

You can also provide information anonymously by contacting Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online.
