A young driver may be taking public transit for the next month after police charged him with stunt driving along Highway 400.

Provincial police say an officer clocked a vehicle speeding southbound at 188 kilometres per hour along the highway in Tay Township on Tuesday.

Police say the "high miler" was a 20-year-old man from Sudbury.

The man’s driver’s licence was suspended as a result of the charge, and the VW he was driving was towed away to the impound yard for seven days.

The accused will have to face a judge in court when he is summoned to answer to the allegation.

Stunt driving is an automatic charge for motorists accused of speeding 50 kilometres or more over a posted limit of 80 km/h or higher.
