Two 16-year-olds from Brampton faces several weapons-related charges following an incident at a Caledon high school Tuesday afternoon that prompted police to initiate a lockdown.

Caledon OPP says officers responded to a weapon-related incident around 1 p.m. involving two teens at Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School.

As a precaution, police initiated the lockdown measure, meaning students and staff must remain in their classrooms with the doors shut. No one is allowed to enter or leave the building.

Members of the OPP Community Street Crime Unit, OPP Central Region Canine Unit, and OPP Emergency Response Team were called to assist with the investigation.

Police say two teens were taken into custody. They did not disclose whether a weapon was found.

The lockdown was lifted around 3:30 p.m.

Police confirmed no one was injured.

The teens were held in custody for a bail hearing. Their identities are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The authorities did not reveal further details on the investigation.

They ask anyone with information about the situation to contact police at 1-888-310-1122.
