For the second time in a week emergency crews responded to a fire at the vacant Lake Simcoe Motel in Barrie.

The fire broke out at around 2:50 a.m. Wednesday at the abandoned Blake Street motel.

The motel has been abandoned for several years and the fire has been deemed suspicious.

The Ontario Fire Marshal has been notified to investigate the blaze.

Emergency crews responded to a similar fire at the vacant motel on August 4. 

Barrie Fire Services found several ignition points on the building and that blaze was deemed arson.
