One person has been airlifted to hospital after a serious crash near Schomberg.

A pickup truck and a lumber truck collided on Country Road 27 between Highway 9 and Line 2 on Tuesday, at around 6:30 a.m.

"It was quite the collision. We don't think there was any braking involved prior to the collision or very little. So the speed was quite high when they collided," says South Simcoe Police Const. Rich Williamson.

South Simcoe Police say the truck collided head-on with the lumber truck.

A 58-year-old man was airlifted to St. Michael’s hospital in Toronto with serious injuries.

Country Road 27 was closed for several hours, but has since reopened.
