A Barrie dermatologist, whose medical licence was suspended last month, was the focus of legal arguments at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

The college's disciplinary committee heard from Dr. Rod Kunynetz's lawyer on Tuesday, who argued that two of four complaints made against his client should be dropped beacuase they were filed in 1999 and 2008.

The complaints involve allegations of sexual assault between 1999 and 2013.

The disciplinary committee did not make any decisions on Tuesday, but is expected to do so before a formal hearing begins later this month.

Kunynetz had his licence suspended in October after the college says he contravened a number of rules he was required to follow.

Those rules required Kunynetz to not treat female patients of any age or even be alone in a room with them unless a college approved female monitor was present.

He was also required to keep a patient log book and have notices about these rules up in the waiting and examination rooms.

If the allegations prove to be true, the college could revoke Kunynetz’s licence.
