Larry Miller and the Conservative Party have once again secured the riding of Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound.

On Monday night, CTV News declared Miller re-elected to the riding for his fifth term as a Member of Parliament. Miller defeated Liberal candidate Kimberley Love, David McLaren of the NDP and Green Party candidate Chris Albinati.

Miller was first elected as MP for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound in 2004, defeating Liberal incumbent Ovid Jackson, who held the riding for 10 years.

Earlier this year, Miller was in the hot seat for comments he made, as a guest on a call-in show in Owen Sound.

The comments were made in regards to Muslim women wearing niqabs during the citizenship oath. Miller later apologized.

The wearing of niqabs went on to become a major talking point on the campaign trail for all three major party leaders.
