Inaugural All Your Friends Fest brings pop-punk and alternative rock to Burl's Creek

The stage is set at Burl's Creek in Oro-Medonte, as thousands are expected on the grounds on Friday for the All Your Friends Fest.

"It's going to be something that we talked about for a really long time because it's just something that's really unique that we've never done before,"  said Brooke Dunford, director of booking and business development with Republic Live.

The inaugural pop-punk and alternative rock festival brings 22 artists to the region for the two-day festival.

Artists like Billy Talent, The All-American Rejects, Fefe Dobson, Lights and Jimmy Eat World are scheduled to perform.

"I think that's the exciting part of this genre, you have some of your favourite bands that you love to see, but there are still Canadians that are coming up, like Logan, and fan favourites like Toronto's Grandson, so it's about discovering and being with your friends at All Your Friends Fest," said Dunford.

The event comes on the heels of the event ground's most iconic festival, Boots and Hearts, where there were more than 30,000 people in attendance on day three, something Dunford says she hopes to recreate with All Your Friends Fest.

Patrick Kordyback, lead singer for Canadian band Stereos, will also perform at the festival, and called Burl's Creek an iconic space.

"We've been to this venue before for Boots and Hearts, and when we heard what, not only the lineup was, but also that it's where they do Boots and Hearts, yeah, that was super special because I know what it's like to be in the crowd up on that stage. I mean, that's all you can ask for," said Kordyback.

Close to 15,000 people are expected to be in attendance for the two-day All Your Friends Fest.

The music festival officially kicks off Friday at 2 p.m. and wraps up Saturday evening with headliner Fall Out Boy taking the stage.
