Two people were injured after a pickup truck crashed through a fence in Barrie’s north end and ended up on its roof roughly 20 feet below.

Police say they received a call about the incident on Georgian Drive on Sunday just before midnight.

Officers arrived to find two occupants with the mangled vehicle.

Police say one person was treated at the scene for minor injuries, while the other was taken to the hospital with what are described as non-life-threatening injuries.

The service doesn’t believe any other vehicles were involved in the collision but say there could have been other individuals in the truck at the time of the crash.

A crew with Classic Towing and Storage worked for hours to recover the vehicle from the wooded area. The towing company said lifting the truck back over the wall proved challenging, but ended smoothly.

Police say the investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the local authorities.
