Tractor-trailer collision causes significant damage to guardrail on Highway 11

Share

Police closed a section of Highway 11 for several hours on Tuesday after a morning tractor-trailer collision caused significant damage to the guardrail.

Provincial police closed the highway in both directions between Line 12 and Line 13 in Oro-Medonte while crews worked to replace over 100 feet of guardrail that was “knocked out” in the crash.

Police said one southbound lane was getting through, but it was slow going. Traffic was being rerouted through the area.

According to provincial police, the road conditions at the time played a factor in the collision. No charges are expected to be laid.

The driver was taken to a local hospital as a precaution.

No other vehicles were involved.
