Provincial police laid charges against a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) driver who had duct-tape as a replacement for the driver’s side window.

Officers with the Almaguin Highlands OPP detachment were alerted to the makeshift replacement window by a concerned caller in Amour Township.

Police quickly located the commercial truck and conducted a traffic stop.

The driver, a 27-year-old from Brampton, was later charged with no clear view to sides, improper mirror on a CMV, careless driving, and failing to report an accident.

Police determined the vehicle unsafe for travel and it was taken out of service.

The OPP advises the public to report concerning behaviour on the roads by calling 911 immediately. Alternatively, non-emergent calls should be made to the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
